After graduating from high school in Ohio, Marilyn Manson headed to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and started the Spooky Kids in 1989 with guitarist Daisy Berkowitz. Nine Inch Nails' leader Trent Reznor loved their tweaked out goth-metal enough to sign em as the first band on his Nothing Records label. But when he and Manson were unsatisfied with the first studio recordings, Daisy Berkowitz and the Spooky Kids name were axed. Manson went on to become the most influential authority in the devil's music and Daisy Berkowitz was left with little more than a collection of mixed tape recordings. Some of those recordings, including 'Thrift,' were re-released by Daisy in 2004. While the quality of the 'Thrift' video is on par with the quality of the mixed tape it came from, it nonetheless offers a unique glimpse into the origins of Manson's creepy career.
