You know it's a good show when you find yourself dancing around to the band's tunes afterwards.  That's how a recent Friday night ended for me...and, finally, with the moon off in the distance, Passion Pit's "Sleepyhead" slowly lulled the energy within my adrenaline-charged, heat-stricken body to a whisper, and I drifted off into a reverie.

And, still, two weeks have gone by since, and I can't stop watching my videos from the show, mentally reliving what I found to be a magical evening at Stubb's.  During Tokyo Police Club's opening set, a certain person in the crowd really set the mood for the night and filled me with such happiness watching him dance his heart out in an already soaking wet buttoned-down shirt, arms continuously pointed at the sky and a huge smile never leaving his face even to sing along with the band.

That's the feeling I love to see...and experience myself.  And though we waited a good half hour for Passion Pit to take the stage, it was well deserved the wait.  They definitely delivered.  And, luckily for me, it was one of those times in my life when all I really needed was to dance it all out and let go.  And it seemed that everyone around me was totally vibing on that, as well.  The crowd was definitely more interactive and energetic than I had initially expected - of course, the last time I caught Passion Pit was at Emo's, and movement and glowsticks aren't really part of the repertoire there.

So dance we did.  And a real good time was had between me and my friends.  The Cranberries cover of "Dreams" was totally unexpected and super reminiscent (geeze, I haven't listened to them in years!).  Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos nailed it, too.  His vocal chords may have well have been plucked straight from Dolores O'Riordan herself.  The notes Angelakos hits on stage are, yes, downright feminine, and I suppose that is a lot of what makes the band so unique...and popular.  In addition to, of course, their catchy lyrics, sound melodies, seamless live performance, and high-quality production with some super stellar lights (oh, they're all pretty easy on the eyes, too...just saying).

By the end of the evening, my dress was - appropriately so due to the hot Austin summer descending upon us - stuck to my body.  And the ole body was worn out...in such a cathartic way.  And that's how I found myself drifting off in the moonlight by night's end, head full of sugarplums and such.
