Jack White feels more like a director than a musician.

The White Stripes frontman - who is also a member of bands The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather - has revealed moving between his multiple music projects makes him feel like a "director".

In an interview alongside The Dead Weather, he told NME: "On everything, I look at myself as a producer on any project, even in this band, and I still feel like a producer, even in The White Stripes as well. or perhaps a director."

However, the 'Seven Nation Army' hitmaker - who worked alongside R 'n' B artist Alicia Keys on the theme tune for James Bond film 'Quantum of Solace' in 2008 - admitted while he does influence the general feel of each band, he always pays attention to "what the music wants".

Speaking to NME, Jack said: "They just all get presented in a different way, like working with Laura Marling or Loretta Lynn, White Stripes or Dead Weather, they just have different names.

"Some come out and get called Jack White and Alicia Keys or The Raconteurs, it doesn't really matter to me, it's just about making those things exist. They tell you what to do. It's all about paying attention to what the music wants."
