Festival visionary Perry Farrell, in conjunction with Chile's Lotus Producciones, WME and C3 Presents - the promotional partners behind Lollapalooza - are excited to announce that the music festival will travel to an exciting new destination: South America.

Lollapalooza goes international when it lands overseas in Santiago, Chile on April 2-3, 2011 at O'Higgins Park.

Much like its Lollapalooza home in Chicago, O'Higgins Park is a gorgeous scenic locale in the middle of an amazing city. Based on space, proximity to the city and the local people, festival creator Perry Farrell claims that O'Higgins Park in Santiago meets all of the prerequisites in selecting a festival destination. The park can hold up to 100,000 patrons and the city provides great culture, hotels, restaurants and  people who share a passion for contemporary music.

Lollapalooza first hit the road in 1991 as a traveling summer music festival featuring groundbreaking acts like Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys and Snoop Dogg. In 2005, Lollapalooza was reborn as a destination festival, taking over Chicago's historic Grant Park for three days every summer and hosting over 130 acts in all genres. Last year's festival was headlined by Lady Gaga, Soundgarden and Green Day.

Lineup details will be available at a later date, but Perry and the team behind Lollapalooza International promise an eclectic mix of talented artists from around the world.
