Keane To Collaborate With Kanye West?

Keane want to collaborate with Kanye West on their next album.

The hip-hop star is a big fan of the British group, and they are equally impressed with his music and hope to record a track with him for their fourth studio LP.

Frontman Tom Chaplin said: "Kanye's a big fan of Keane and he really loved 'Perfect Symmetry'. Apparently he had this strange obsession with 'Spiralling'! I don't know whether that's b*****ks or not but we got wind from his manager that he'd put it on 70 times in a row.

"We did spend a weird and wonderful night with him in a studio in Paris. I hope we get the chance to do some more stuff with him because he's a magnetic person - a real force. He's a musical genius."

The singer claims the group learnt a lot from "chucking together" their last EP 'Night Train' while on tour, and believes their next album will be a "poppy" record.

Tom - who is joined in the group by pianist Tim Rice-Oxley and drummer Richard Hughes - added to website Gigwise: "'Night Train' was a very spontaneous record. We just chucked it together on the road. It has a very loose feel to it and it was quite informative for us as a band in terms of going forward in the future, as I imagine it will have an impact on how we do things. We were really pleased with it.

"We're all really excited about the next record. Tim's written a load of songs and some great stuff has come out of that. It could turn out to be quite a poppy record."
