Johnny Flippin Bird'Walk The Line,' which took home best actor and actress awards at the Golden Globes and is nominated for an Academy Award, has revived the career of Johnny Cash yet again. In the 1990's, following a relapse into painkillers and rejection from the major labels, Cash was approached by Beastie Boy's producer Rick Rubin and the two recorded some of Cash's best work since the 1960s. One of those songs was a cover of the Nine Inch Nail's classic, 'Hurt.' The extremely moving video that went with it, directed by Mark Romanek, is at times uncomfortable to watch because it does not hide that Cash and his wife, June Carter, were at the end of their lives. June Carter died two months after the filming and Johnny died four months after. Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails was so moved by Cash's interpretation that he declared, 'That song isn't mine anymore.' 'Hurt' went on to win the Grammy and Country Music Award for best video of the year.
