Foo Fighters Finish Album

Foo Fighters have finished their "massive" new album.

The band's frontman, Dave Grohl, said they have recently completed recording the album - follow-up to 2007s 'Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace' - in his garage in California and it is now being mastered in New York.

The singer and guitarist said: "There are 11 songs on it and front to back there's not one sleepy ballad.

"The process was so simple. It was really in my garage. You could put a mini-van in there and that's it.

"It just sounds massive. It's different to any other Foo Fighters album because it just sounds big. It was really inspiring."

Despite finishing the record, Dave said the band are still deciding what the first single will be.

He added: "I don't even know what the single is going to be. It's hard to choose because it sounds like there's more than one.

"We entered into this project with a direction. The first song we started recording, the tape just started shredding."

In May last year, drummer Taylor Hawkins revealed the band often change their mind about how songs sound and end up re-recording in Dave's garage.

He said: "In the past we've recorded albums twice, finished whole records worth hundreds of thousands of dollars - only to re-record it in a week in Dave's basement. You never know how it's going to end up."
