Ida Maria started seeing success in Norway in 2007 after winning two national competitions for unknown artists and playing shows at the annual Norwegian music industry By:Larm in 2007 and 2008. Since then, Ida Maria has expanded her popularity outside of her native country, gaining fans from her tours in Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, Australia and the United States.

The rocking sweetheart/badass released her second album, Katla, internationally on June 7th, 2011, which includes the track "Bad Karma."
