Poison frontman Bret Michaels  tells CMT he will release a contemporary country-Americana album in late December or early January, tentatively titled Bret Michaels: Once a Cowboy, Always a Cowboy. He admits there are a lot of country artists he would love to work with, including Garth Brooks (one of his "all-time favorites"), Martina McBride (who he says has an "unbelievable voice") and Kenny Chesney  (by either performing together or writing him a song). Bret also promises Taylor Swift, "I've got a good song for us to collaborate on."

Michaels is also returning to the reality show spotlight in Bret Michaels: Life as I Know It, premiering in October on VH1. The show follows the singer, his girlfriend Kristi and their two daughters, Raine and Jorja, as Bret balances his personal and professional life. He says the series "gives people a sense between what Rock of Love was, where Celebrity Apprentice took me and what my real life with my kids and Kristi is like." Michaels admits he's driven, elaborating, "I'm never quite satisfied, so I always feel like there's something more I could have done better." Brett adds, "For better or for worse, for right or wrong, I believe in what I'm doing, and sometimes my blessing is not knowing any better."

country music is across the board in so many ways now that no artist is complete without mergng their talents to create a very broad spectrum of country and rock. Something that will bring even more fans to livin country style.

the stars Bret mentioned are well known and successful. love them. but there is a new talent in country music that was not mentioned. After listening to every video and song of Casey James from Texas, i'm a fan for life. have not seen or heard anyone so 'un-canned' and versatile. what people saw on American Idol was not a tiny glimpse of the talent this young man has. Personally looking forward to hearing much more of this young man. Would be interesting to see what he and Bret would come up with together. Casey can do so much more than 'Every rose has its thorn". Glad Sony signed him! they picked another good one!
