Atmosphere are MTV’s 52/52 ARTIST FOR THIS WEEK! 52/52 is a way for MTV to give unprecedented exposure to unsigned artists, indie bands and established acts on major labels in a completely new and innovative way. MTV handpicks one band/artist per week for an entire year and gives them the equivalent of over 11 hrs of on-air promo inventory per week on the channel.

Atmosphere’s 6th studio album When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold came in at #5 on last week’s Billboard Top 200, selling 36,526 copies in its first week. The chart position and the sales mark the highest one week totals in the 11 year history of Atmosphere and their label, Rhymesayers. When Life Gives You Lemons… nearly doubled the first week number of Atmosphere’s last album, You Can’t Imagine How Much Fun We’re Having, which sold 18,549 in week one, good for a #66 debut back in October of 2005. In addition to being #5 on the Top 200, When Life Gives You Lemons… was the #1 selling Rap Record, #1 selling Internet record, #2 selling Indie record. Look for Atmosphere performing on Late Night w/Conan O’Brien Weds, May 21st and on FUEL TV’s “The Daily Habit” Friday, May 23rd and Monday May 26th.
