At The Drive-In have reformed.
The hugely influential Texan post-hardcore rock group announced their return in a cryptic message posted on twitter this afternoon.
Referring to the words of their single 'One Armed Scissor,' a tweet on the band's page read: "¡ ATTENTION ! To whom it may concern: AT THE DRIVE-IN will be breaking their 11 year silence THIS STATION IS …NOW…OPERATIONAL."
At The Drive in rose to international fame with their third album 'Relationship of Command' in 2000, only to implode a year later when singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala and guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez left to form The Mars Volta.
The remaining members of the band - Jim Ward, Paul Hinojos and Tony Hajjar - continued under the name Sparta.
In 2009, Cedric hinted relations between the former members of At The Drive-In had improved and they may reform.
He told website DrownedInSound.com: "We've been making amends with a lot of the members and having some really good talks with them.
"We've been trying to get our financial business in order because a lot of people have been ripping off that band really badly.
"I wouldn't mind a reformation. It might happen, we just have to iron out a lot of personal things. A lot of it we've dealt with already and I've apologised for a lot of things I've said and the way it ended. We'll see what happens."
