Alice Cooper's Joy At Hall Of Fame Vote

Alice Cooper's induction into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame is special because it was voted for by his heroes.

The 'Under My Wheels' rocker will be inducted along with the surviving members of the original Alice Cooper band - Dennis Dunaway, Neal Smith and Michael Bruce - on Monday and Alice revealed he still can't believe his idols voted for him.

He explained: "The funny thing is - it's amazing what happens in your brain. As soon as we got in, I went, what is great about this is, well, first of all you're being voted on by the very guys that you learned from. Y'know, guys that are in the Hall Of Fame; y'know, The Kinks, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles - they have to vote on you. And, I mean, you're sitting there going, 'Wow. Those guys voted for us.'"

While he is honoured by the votes from the music legends, Alice always expected the group - whose late guitarist Glen Buxton will be replaced by Steve Hunter for their performance - to eventually be admitted to the Hall of Fame.

He told America's Pulse of Radio: "The Hall of Fame thing was expected and unexpected," he said. "It was one of those things where, like, we knew eventually, we would get in - and, y'know, we never really thought we'd get in on the first ballot. I mean this was the first time we've even been nominated."
