Ronnie Wood wants The Rolling Stones to headline Glastonbury next year.
The rocker said he is itching to get back with the group - who have been hotly tipped to kick off a tour in 2011, ahead of expected 50th anniversary celebrations in 2012 - for the first time in three years next summer.
He said: "I'd love to do it. I'm always up for the festivals. As far as the Stones are concerned, we haven't had a get together for three years but it's high time."
Ronnie has previously said the 'Jumpin' Jack Flash' band are set to meet this month and discuss their plans for moving forward.
Both drummer Charlie Watts and guitarist Keith Richards have previously told how they're ready to tour, with the latter saying he'd approached singer Mick Jagger about it.
He said: "I'm always ready. Mick and I spoke about a month ago in New York.
"It's at that mumbling stage. But I had some outtakes from the last sessions we did for 'A Bigger Bang' and said, 'Just to jog your memory.'
"So there's interaction. You don't want to push it too hard."
The Rolling Stones last performed live in 2007 for their tour in support of 'A Bigger Bang'. That same year they played at the Isle of Wight festival, their first appearance at a UK festival since 1976.
Other acts rumoured to be headlining Glastonbury - one of the biggest festivals in Europe - include Prince, Coldplay and Radiohead.
1. Muse - UnCut http://www.roxwel.com/player/acl2010muse.html Okay, hands down my only semi freak out moment that I have ever had was when we did this interview. It was just me and Toby, I believe we were the only ones from the media tent that got granted this interview. I almost didn't want to go because I didn't want to meet one of my favorite bands and be disappointed (it's happened before). I'm glad I went. Dom and Matt were so welcoming and gave a wonderful interview. Swoon.
2. OK Go - Live Performance http://www.roxwel.com/player/okgoliveperformance.html One of the most exciting shows we shot in 2010. OK Go sure knows how to put on a show! With cams attached to their mics, witty/charming banter in between, and a confetti machine to boot. Also enjoy our new Austin resident "rock poet" Thax Douglas kicking the show off with a poem for OK Go.
3. Deftones - UnCut http://www.roxwel.com/player/deftonesinterview2010.html Oh my my my, how I forgot how much I LOVED the Deftones! I grew up with the Deftones, but my music taste has changed since then. Little did I know, I still hold a special place in my heart for the Deftones. The energy of this show is insane! If they come through, you HAVE to see this show live!
4. Mumford & Sons - Live Performance http://www.roxwel.com/player/mumfordandsonsinterview.html You ever come across a band that is so good that you almost hate them a little for being that good? This one is it for me. What a beautiful show they put on. We filmed our alotted three songs, packed the gear up as quick as we could, grabbed a few beers, danced, and sang til our hearts were content. Thanks for that one Mumford & Sons. You made my soul sing that night.
5. Coheed & Cambria - UnCut http://www.roxwel.com/player/coheedandcambriainterview.html And the nicest guy in rock n roll award goes to Claudio! We've interviewed him a couple of times and this guy gets it. He is the nicest guy on the planet and let's it be known how much he values his fans, but not in an obvious way, it's just so subtle which is the beauty of it. And he's shy. I wasn't particularly a fan of the music until this show. Incredible live show, incredible music. Another show to catch live, even if you aren't a fan of the band. You will be after you experience the energy in the air.
6. Motorhead - Overdose http://www.roxwel.com/player/motorheadoverdose.html Lemmy, how I heart thee. During SXSW 2010, we had the opportunity of a lifetime. We got to interview Lemmy. I got to see Bobby and Chuck turn into girls in .2 seconds upon entering Lemmy's hotel room. We ended up hanging out with him for an hour, watching him sing along to his new solo album while he was watching a cop chase reality show on tv. 100% SURREAL!!!! It turned out to be an all around office favorite. Lemmy gave us some great one liners in this piece and he was a perfect gentleman, I even got a kiss on the hand before we left.
7. Roxwel roxWHEEL - ACL 2010 http://www.roxwel.com/player/acl2010roxwheel.html "Why didn't we think of this FOUR YEARS AGO!" So what happens when you get tired of conducting the same boring interviews during festival season? You get together with your work buddies for beers at the local pub the night before the festival and come up with random questions/challenges to put on the wheel your girlfriend and her roommate sawed a few hours later. BAM! And that's how Roxwel's roxWHEEL came about the night before ACL 2010 kicked off. We had so much fun (aside from our allergies) and our host Bobby Nall KILLED it! We all still laugh out loud watching this one back.
8. Phoenix - Live Performance http://www.roxwel.com/player/phoenixliveatstubbs.html Another office favorite. Phoenix has always put on a great show, whether it's an acoustic show for 10 lucky radio winners, or they sell out our favorite venue to shoot at, Stubb's. The put on a killer light show. The guys are all very nice as well, you gotta love it when the whole band is nice and grateful for their fans. Oh, and they have sexy french accents. (Another) Swoon.
9. Cypress Hill - UnCut http://www.roxwel.com/player/cypresshilluncut.html --"Hits from the bong y'all; Gonna get high; Hits from the bong; Gonna get high; Hits from the bong; Gonna get high;-- I MEAN C'MON! We got to follow around Sen Dog and B-Real while they shopped for vinyl at our favorite record store, Waterloo Records. What a treat this day was, most of us grew up on Cypress Hill and to be able to talk to them about music and personally find out how many albums they could find that had a marijuana tie-in? Priceless.
10. Jenny Owen Youngs - Live Performance http://www.roxwel.com/player/jennyowenyoungsliveperformance.html Jenny Owen Youngs played our day party during SXSW 2010 and I immediately fell in love. Not only with her music but her as well, she's my kind of girl. There are more than a couple of songs in that set that just do it for me, and tug on the heart strings a little. Thanks for the laughs, and the tears Jenny. I will cherish the moment we never had, always.
2010, it's been great but you can eat it! Here's to 2011! May it bring us new music to wrap our heads around, old music to feed our souls, and a ton of live shows to get piss drunk to and sing til our hearts are content and our feet are swollen.
love, Nadia M.
We really put out some stellar original content in 2010, so here are my top picks of the year. Cheers to Nadia, Clay, Bobby and Toby for making all this happen!
10. Tea Leaf Green - Exclusive Interview & Live Performance: This interview - if you can call it that - will definitely give ya a chuckle. There's lots of laughter, dancing and impromptu singing along the way. As the interviewer, I hardly got a question answered...but I really got a feel for what these guys are like together on the road!
9. Brothers Past - Live Performance: Philly's Brothers Past made a one-off tour stop in our fair city back in March. And not only do I dig their tunes, but they were all super nice, chill guys. If you're not familiar with their music, the first set from their 3.11.10 show at The Parish makes for some easy listening at work...just saying!
8. Cypress Hill - UnCut: So I got to hold the boom on this one...probs for half an hour total. And let me tell ya, that sheeeit gets real heavy, real fast, especially when you're meandering around the narrow aisles in your friendly, local record store (thank you, Waterloo Records!). Muscle aches aside though, I love the idea behind the piece - Sen Dog and B-Real picking out must have albums for the folks at home - and think that any music fan would enjoy it, considering that these critically acclaimed hip-hop icons cover a broad spectrum of genres and decades with their picks.
7. Motorhead - Overdose: "We intend to deafen you for the rest of our lives until we drop dead doing it." Yup, I'm hardly a metal fan, but god damn, Lemmy is a straight-up BADass! This piece, shot during SXSW '10, features Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister talking about the documentary based on him, Lemmy: 49% Motherf*cker, 51% Son Of A Bitch, that's to hit theatres in early 2011. With outtakes from the movie, you really get a feel for Lemmy, while others feel him out - and sing his praises - too. Thanks be to Lemmy!
6. ACL 2010 - Spin the Roxwel RoxWHEEL!: Riding the success of the Lady Gaga Lolla piece (whoops, wrote these backwards...see #5!), we took our new festival coverage idea even further and created the Roxwel RoxWHEEL - complete with your host, a suited up Bobby "Barker" Nall! From thumb war and reciting rap verses from memory to ad libbing songs about ACL and picking bands to fight/marry/make whoopie with, the RoxWHEEL was a hit with hilarious contributions from the Black Lips, Matt & kim, The Ettes, Cage The Elephant, Ozomatli, Asleep At The Wheel, Dan Black and more!
5. Lollapalooza Artists - How Would You Spend Lady Gaga's $250k Stage Budget?: Finally, festival coverage that's fun for all involved! Don't you know how old it gets to ask - and be asked - the same questions over and over again? Well, that's festival season for ya and that's why we did something a little different at Lollapalooza, asking all the artists we interviewed what they'd do with Lady Gaga's redonculous $250k stage budget. And then we edited all the responses into this one lil' bright & shiny piece. "Dusts, powders, pills...you name it, we did it" - nuff said.
4. OK Go - Exclusive Live Performance: Daayyyuum, what a fun show! I really had no idea what I was getting into at OK Go's 5.19.10 show at The Parish. I had seen their videos, of course, but after seeing 'em live - and filming their backstage interview before the show - I became a fan. They've got all the elements to really draw an audience into their musical world, and they definitely got me, as I noted in my blog post on the show.
3. Phoenix - Exclusive Live Performance: I think my review of Phoenix's 4.29.10 show at Stubb's, which begins with the word "bliss," best sums up my feelings on Phoenix - their music, the experience and the band personally. Their 12.17.09 La Zona Rosa show topped my list for best live performances of '09 (that I saw)...whatta Christmaaaas present it was!
2. Mumford & Sons - Exclusive Live Performance: I truly heart this band. On the same label, Glassnote Records, as Phoenix, Mumford & Sons - like their labelmates - are such genuine, talented and humble musicians. Their debut album, Sigh No More, was released in the States in February 2010, and they've achieved such extraordinary success this year. Selling out venue after venue, you're in for a real treat with these guys. As Bob Lefsetz said in his popular blog, The Lefsetz Letter, their music "sounds like life."
1. The Disco Biscuits - Exclusive Interview & Live Performance: Gawd, what a nervous wreck I was when plans changed for this interview - with my favorite band - 5 minutes before it started. I'm interviewing Magner in a port-a-potty. Seriously? Yep, naked from the waist down. It's rock 'n' roll, man...just gots to go with it! And I absolutely LOVE how the piece turned out. I've watched it countless times and will forever remember the experience. The Biscuits were killing it throughout '09, and I fortunately got to catch 13 shows that year and interview 'em twice. This interview was published in January 2010, capping off a phenomenal year for them - and me!

Arcade Fire are grateful to have not had "one pop radio hit".
The 'Suburban War' group enjoy the fact their fans relate to their music as a whole rather than attending their concerts just to hear one particular song.
Frontman Win Butler said: "We haven't had one pop radio hit that gets bludgeoned to death.
"At our shows people aren't coming just to hear one song. I feel really lucky that our audience has a different relationship to our music than Katy Perry fans do.
"It means the audience aren't waiting around to hear 'the hit' with the rest of the tracks not moving them."
Win is also hopeful their current album, the 16-track 'Suburbs', will stand the test of time and fans will still want to listen to it in years to come.
He added: "This album was a story we wanted to tell. It's the kind of album that, in ten years time, you'll come back to and rediscover a song you hadn't heard properly.
"It's like a double in the old days and I always take the long view with records."
Pick-Axe Bobby's Top 12-ish Albums of 2010
Here's my obligatory list of albums you've never heard of, straight-up hate, or think I'm a poseur for liking best in 2010. Straight from a guy whose opinion you care about 0%. Enjoy!
12) Howl - Full Of Hell
Howl really surprised me with this debut full-length. Had seen them plenty of times over the last 2 years, and loved that they really translated their intensity on this record. Excellent folks, too. Key track: "Jezebel"
11) Grinderman 2
Don't think I really need to explain how genius Nick Cave and Warren Ellis are. But it is worth noting that I love how fun this album is, while simultaneously so grim at points. The video for "Heathen Child" just about says it all. Key Track: "Heathen Child"
10) Shining - Blackjazz
Holy fuck, what a mindmelt this album is. This album is a seriously challenging listen, but there is so much going on at any given moment that it never gets dull, even when repetitive. I could go into the depths of how complex the songs are, how brutal and technical the playing/arrangements are, or how this is 'the future of metal' or something. But I won't; just check this batshit crazy music out yourself. Key Track: "Fisheye"
9) Hollerado - Record In A Bag
I first came across Hollerado at SXSW this year, where their show was my fav of the whole festival; just a total party replete with party poppers, beer everywhere, and ending with the crowd on stage playing and singing and jumping and FUCKING FUN! I didnt expect their album to be as jangly and singable as the live stuff, but I was pleasantly surprised. Put this on at a party, and you won't be able to turn it off. Key Tracks: “Do The Doot Da Doot Do”, “Americanarama”
8) Salome - Terminal
GAAAA, so goddamn heavy. So sludgy. So dystopic. So... MEAN... Key Tracks: “Master Failure”, "The Witness"
7) Black Tusk - Taste The Sin
Ok, I'll admit it. The reason I paid attention to this release initially was the John Baisley artwork. Which really means he gives tacit approval, and goddamn if this record deosn't rock start to finish. No fucking around, just straight fast and loud, stripped down 3-piece doom. The fact that their live show kicks so much ass is just the icing on the cake. Key Tracks: “Red Eyes, Black Skies”, “Takeoff”
6) Devo - Something For Everybody
Do you know the story behind this album? Besides being the new wave legends' first studio album in 20 goddamn years, the final cuts were "focus group-approved," and conceptually marketed as, well, something for everybody... Devo are pure pop genius and Devolution is real, people. Get hip. Key Tracks: “Don't Shoot (I'm A Man)”, “Fresh”, “Human Rocket”
5) Tweak Bird - S/T
These guys are musical chameleons. Two total hippie weirdo brothers that make heavy but singable music that works as well for workout music as it does for getting baked and riding around with the top down. They can play with a metal band, or a punk band, or I dunno, a gypsy band and it would work. Key Tracks: “Sky Ride”, “Lights In Lines”, “Tunneling Through”
4) Coliseum - House With A Curse
Remember when Coliseum opened for every metal band in the world over the last few years? Wanna know why? Because they fucking kick ass. They are writing better songs with every album, not losing their edge, but not afraid to stray from the hardcore path. It's like Helmet and Unsane had sex with your mom. I must have listened to "Blind In One Eye" twenty times before the album even dropped. Key Tracks: “Blind In One Eye” (duh), “Crime And The City”, “Statuary”
3) Kylesa - Spiral Shadow
The praises of Kylesa's new record are abundant among critics, and well the only reason I would put this on my list is to spite them. The truth is, this band is simply fantastic. They are big, they write heavy ass riffs, they're well-produced, and they pull it all off live. They also wrote the best Torche song of the year ("Don't Look Back") (sorry, Torche, I still love you). Key Tracks: “Tired Climb”, “Don't Look Back”, “Cheating Synergy”
2) Melvins - The Bride Screamed Murder
The Melvins are my favorite band. The Bride Screamed Murder is a testament to why. From the call-and-response swagger of the military chant in "The Water Glass" to the noise and riffage of "Electric Flower" to the complete deconstruction of The Who's "My Generation", this record is pure Melvins perfection. Key Tracks: “The Water Glass", “Evil New War God”, “Electric Flower”
1) Kvelertak - S/T
I don't fucking get it, people. I really, really, really don't. Why on earth is there so much hostility amongst critics and fans alike toward Norwegian newcomers Kvelertak? Is it because they recklessly borrow from black metal, thrash, punk, hard rock and anything in between? That must be it, because this album positively rips, and only those isolationist criers of 'kvlt' and people who don't like their food touching could whine about how bad ass these songs are. This album is simultaneously at the top of lists and the most decried of others. That about says it. Track of the Year: "Blodtørst"
Honorable Mentions:
- Torche - Song For Singles: Like I said earlier, I still love Torche. Just didn't get into the album like I did Meanderthal. Also it was short.
- Cloudkicker - Beacons: Self-produced Djenty melodic instrumental. Something I wish I had more time with.
- This Comp Kills Fascists, vol. II: BLEEEEEAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!
- Deathspell Omega - Paracletus: Totally mind-melting French black metal. Really out-there stuff. Kinda slept on this one, and with time, might have made the list.
Albums I totally slept on, oops:
Misery Index Slough Feg US Christmas Magrudergrind Valient Thorr Swans Daughters Danko Jones Daath

Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan is recovering well after undergoing sinus surgery.
The rock bassist - one of the founding members of Guns N' Roses, who also worked with Janes Addiction earlier this year -thanks fans and dismissed rumours he has gone back to using cocaine, although his drug use was behind the reason he had to undergo surgery earlier this week.
He tweeted: "Thank you all for the very nice well-wishes regarding my sinus surgery recovery. I do want to make it clear for those of you who may be wondering: The surgery was a result of scar tissue build-up from my cocaine use, which ended sixteen years ago.
"I have not relapsed on cocaine."
The confusion as to whether he had gone back to drugs stemmed from a tweet by his wife, Susan Holmes McKagan on Tuesday (12/14/2010), where she wrote: "Kids, don't do drugs! Say a prayer for Duff as he's getting surgery on his sinuses (a hole the size of a quarter from years of abuse)."
Duff, after a lifetime's worth of rock 'n' roll excess, got sober in the early 90s after contracting alcohol-induced pancreatitis and being told by doctors he would die within a month if he did not clean up.
He has previously said his favourite thing about sobriety is "waking up and being able to have a cup of coffee and be aware of what's going on around me and being comfortable in my own skin, and being curious about what's gonna happen that day. Simply, just waking up is the best thing."
Coldplay banned children's choirs from their Christmas record.
The band have just released single 'Christmas Lights' and made a list of the predictable festive pop sounds they didn't want on the track.
In an interview with British station BBC Radio 1, guitarist Johnny Buckland said: "Funnily enough when we were writing this song we thought about all the things that take a song from being a great Christmas song to being a huge Christmas song, and we had a long list of things that we would absolutely not put in our Christmas track."
Singer Chris Martin interjected to add: "You threw all my lyrics out didn't you?"
Johnny continued, saying: "About the reindeer and stuff? It's been done before. A children's choir, that's a no-go, and sleigh bells. There is a fine line between good and cheese."
Although Chris is pleased with the group's foray into festive music, the singer insists he isn't going to worry about what the reaction is to 'Christmas Lights'- which has already charted in over 10 countries.
He said: "I'm not going to get all paranoid about it. It's Christmas! Start worrying in January."
