Due to circumstances beyond their control, regarding the current Slayer situation and the postponement of the Canadian Carnage dates, Machine Head will understandably not be doing the Canadian Carnage dates either.  Fortunately, Machine Head were able to reschedule their only United States headlining show at The Crazy Donkey in Long Island, NY.  The show is now scheduled for Thursday November, 12th.

On November 14th, Machine Head will join up with Megadeth in Grand Rapids, MI, through December 3rd in Oklahoma City OK.  Immediately after Machine Head will join up with Metallica in Las Vegas on December 5th, for the west coast leg of their tour ending with a triumphant hometown show for both bands at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA.

The forthcoming Dashboard Confessional / New Found Glory Tour is no longer forthcoming after Dashboard Confessional pulled out of the trek due to "a family situation."

Dashboard Confessional posted the following notice on their website: We have some bad news. Due to a family situation that is beyond our control, we have to cancel our upcoming tour with New Found Glory, Never Shout Never, Meg & Dia and Single File (we are still playing with the Louisville Orchestra on November 7th). We don't take this lightly but family has to come first. As this is a last minute development, we are still figuring out what we will do- as soon as we know, you will know. We apologize to everyone who planned on coming to the shows. We will find a way to make it up to you.

At press time there was still no official word from the New Found Glory camp about the fate of the tour, but Chad Gilbert of the group posted the following on his Twitter(which pretty much confirms the whole tour is off): To EVERYONE WHO IS CONFUSED. NFG and TITLE FIGHT shows are NOT cancelled. Only the Dashboard tour was. Our headline shows are still a go!!!!

These are the shows listed on the NFG website:

Nov 3 2009 Station 4 Saint Paul, Minnesota
Nov 5 2009 New Daisy Memphis, Tennessee
Nov 6 2009 Emerson Theater Indianapolis, Indiana
    Nov 7 2009 Pop's Sauget, Illinois

  • Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath guitar legend Tony Iommi spoke with The Radcliffe & Maconie Show on BBC Radio 2 this week about his recent hand injury. "We're just taking a break now," Iommi says about the brief HEAVEN AND HELL hiatus - the band also featuring singer Ronnie James Dio, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Vinnie Appice.

"I've had this problem with my hand and I'm having stem cell treatment on it," Iommi continues. "I have to wear a guard on my hand to prevent me from banging it. But it's coming along good. The cartilage went out on the joints, so the joints were rubbing on the joints. It was bone on bone and it was getting a bit painful. I've had pain for about 18 months and have been taking anti-inflammatories and pain killers. But I wanted to stop doing it because it upsets your stomach. This is the latest thing, so we'll see if it works."

Motion City Soundtrack confirm My Dinosaur Life as the title of their new album and Columbia Records debut.  The album was produced by Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus, who first teamed up with the boys in 2005 when he produced Commit This to Memory, and mixed by Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine,Sonic Youth).  To give fans their first taste of what’s to come, the band will be releasing “Disappear” – their first new studio song in more than two years – exclusively through iTunes on October 20th.

Motion City Soundtrack has not only built up a reputation for their catchy songs and idiosyncratic lyrics, but as a very visual band with their elaborate and smart videos.  That said, they are already working on a video for “Disappear” to be released next month.
