Coldplay didn't let their fans have a Christmas without a gift from the band! The band allowed fans to login to the Coldplay website and download the Thin White Duke remix of their Satrabi-esque hit "Viva La Vida." The guys also posted a breif video of the the live rendention of "Jingle Bells' from a recent concert.
McMurray said, "It's a really cool-looking guitar because it's smashed and held together with duct tape and Kurt Cobain wrote on it."
Sluggo obtained the guitar after a NIRVANA gig in New Jersey, before the band became successful. Cobain smashed the guitar during the show and needed one for the next gig. He happened to be staying at the apartment of Sluggo, who offered one of his guitars in exchange for the smashed one, also asking Cobain to sign it.
The price is the second highest for a piece of NIRVANA memorabilia. Cobain's Mosrite Gospel Mark IV guitar sold at a 2006 auction for $131,000.
Former Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler is going to spend more time in rehab.
A court commissioner in Los Angeles agreed Friday to place Adler in a state-sanctioned drug rehabilitation program and keep Adler out of prison.
Adler's court appearance came a day after TV audiences watched him graduate from a drug-treatment program that is the focus of VH1's show "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew."
Adler missed a court appearance last week, but told the court on Friday that he had been in another rehab program that he completed just earlier in the day.
Los Angeles police arrested the rocker in July. He was charged with felony drug possession and a misdemeanor count of being under the influence of drugs. Adler will remain on probation while he tries to complete the state program.
La Coka Nostra have officially signed with Suburban Noize Records for the release of their upcoming debut "A Brand You Can Trust", which will be released through the label in early 2009. The group will embark on the Bring Tha Noize Tour alongside Kottonmouth Kings, Blaze Ya' Dead Homie, Big B, Potluck and Short Dawg beginning in late February through early April.
"It's official! La Coka Nostra has joined forces with Suburban Noize to bring you our debut album, 'A Brand You Can Trust'. We are very excited to be working with Kevin Zinger and the entire Sub Noize family and look forward to finally unleashing the LCN war machine upon the current candy-coated, watered-down and auto tuned-out musical landscape that popular rap music has become," says La Coka Nostra's ILL BILL aka the Cult Leader. "This record is a no holds barred burst of hardcore hip hop to the fullest, representing everything we love about this art form but feel is missing from the game right now. To show you we're not alone in our thinking we're bringing Snoop Dogg, Cypress Hill, Bun B, Psycho Realm, Immortal Technique & the Alchemist along for the ride. We know a lot of ya'll feel the same way we do, so we're using our voice to speak for those that may not have this opportunity. That's why La Coka Nostra is 'A Brand You Can Trust'. Album in stores first quarter 2009!"
Maybe once in a musical era's lifetime does a revolutionary collision occur at the four-way intersection of underground, old school, new, and mainstream. Such an anomaly has finally materialized within a hip-hop world that has – for all intent and purpose – otherwise been tapped out. Founded on a new breed of rappers, but further injecting the mix with iconic veterans of the game the result is LA COKA NOSTRA.
Composed of members Ill Bill, Slaine, Everlast, DannyBoy, Dj Lethal and Big Left, La Coka Nostra is a breath of fresh air in these days of contrived airbrushed rap music.

Columbia Records is excited to announce that on March 17, 2009, Coheed and Cambria will release Neverender, The Children of the Fence boxset, a release that is possibly as ambitious as the event itself.
Neverender marked the triumphant culmination of the band's four-album album cycle. The historic four-night event featured the band performing each of their four albums in their entirety on four consecutive nights, October 22-25 2008 at New York’s Terminal 5 and was the first time that Coheed had performed the saga that connects the albums in order. The band performed in front of nearly 11,000 of their most passionate fans, who flew in from all over the world, organized for months in advance to carpool and share hotel rooms, lined up all day in the rain to get the best spots on the floor. Selling out in three hours, Neverender’s New York dates prompted a tide of demand that spawned three other sold-out Neverender stands, in LA, Chicago, and London.
The box set documents the New York stand (as well as clips from all 3 other cities) in one massive package that will include four live DVDs, four live audio CDs, one documentary DVD, a 10x10 hardcover 48-page photo book and a 7-1/2” custom metal dragonfly. A condensed two-disc DVD will also be made available. Pre-sales for the box began on Friday, Dec 12. Fans who pre-order it will get their names included on a “Children of the Fence” page inside the book. The first 3,000 copies will be signed by the band.

According to Rolling Stone, the rumors that Phish will headline Bonnaroo appear to be true. Reliable sources close to band members tell the magazine that Phish "will top the bill for two nights, restoring the fest to its jam-friendly roots." The festival, taking place June 11 - 14 in Manchester, TN, does not typically release the artist lineup until February, so stay tuned to the Bonnaroo website for the most up-to-date information.
Former and present members of Guns N'Roses, Velvet Revolver, Yes, Kiss, the Stray Cats, Grand Funk Railroad and Alice Cooper's and Paul McCartney's bands will take part in next year's Hollywood edition of Rock'n'Roll Fantasy Camp, which will take place April 29-May 3. This year's camp "counselor" lineup includes Duff McKagan (ex-Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver), Mark Farner (ex-Grand Funk Railroad) Bruce Kulick (ex-Kiss), Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats), Alan White (Yes), Rusty Anderson (McCartney), Teddy Andreadis (ex-GNR and Alice Cooper) and songwriter/producer Mark Hudson, who's worked with Ringo Starr, Aerosmith and Ozzy Osbourne.
Camp organizer David Fishof promises some "special guests," while celebrity chef Guy Fieri will prepare the opening night meal. As in previous years, the campers will organize into bands and record an original song at Capitol Studios with Eddie Kramer, as well as play as part of a concert at the Whisky A Go Go. This year's camp will also feature a companion package offering music lessons, dinners and access to the camp activities for plus-ones.
Registration has opened at RockCamp.com, with a $500 discount for those signing up before Dec. 22.
