    silverchair

Silverchair will release the iTunes exclusive EP on Tuesday, December 18th entitled The Greatest View EP. The six track collection features the current single "The Greatest View" which was originally on Silverchair's 2003 release Diorama and will be stripped onto 2008 editions of Young Modern plus a remix of "Straight Lines" by
The Presets, Two previously unreleased Young Modern B-Sides and two videos. Full track listing is below.

"The Greatest View" is currently receiving major airplay across the country including such stations as Q101/Chicago, 99X/Atlanta, WFNX/Boston, KDGE/Dallas, Sirius, XM and Music Choice.

A little known fact is that Silverchair lead singer/guitar player and The Presets leader Julian Hamilton are great friends thanks to their Australian roots and similar musical interests. Julian actually co-wrote the smash hit "Straight Lines" along with three other tracks off Young Modern and has been a touring member of Silverchair when he has the time. Julian and Kim from the Presets were also touring members of the Dissociatives - Daniel's 'other band' with Paul Mac. Closing the circle, Daniel contributed guitar work for past Presets records as well as helping write some tunes with them so it's a family affair. The Presets have a new album set for early '08 release.

Silverchair is on the verge of finishing up the second leg of their sold out US tour before heading back to Australia for the holidays. They will headline that country's Big Day Out tour in January alongside Rage Against The Machine, Bjork and Arcade Fire. Expect to see the band back in the US in early 2008.

The Greatest View EP Track Listing:
    1. The Greatest View (Originally from "Diorama")
    2. Straight Lines {The Presets Remix}
    3. We're Not Lonely...BUT We Miss You (B-Side)
    4. Barbarella (B-Side)
    5. If You Keep Losing Sleep VIDEO
    6. The Greatest View - Live From Carriageworks, Sydney VIDEO

    twisted

Colourful heavy rockers TWISTED SISTER have been forced to scrap a concert in California due to poor ticket sales.

The gig at the Bren Events Center in Irvine was planned by two entrepreneurial fans who took out a $100,000 (GBP50,000) bank loan to fund the 14 December (07) show.

Blabbermouth.net reports the Newport Beach, California couple stood to earn a tidy fortune for local charities and cover their loan if the show was a sell-out, but now it looks as if the pair will be left out of pocket after only 600 of the 4,300 tickets sold

  • A well known Cowboy is getting Hollywoodfied...A Dallas Cowboy that is.

QB Tony Romo and poptart Jessica Simpson have been linked together the past few weeks.

Club goers witnessed the saliva swapping couple at Jess's BFF/X Assistant's Bday Bash at LA's nightclub Teddy over the weekend. Proving the rumors are true.

So how did this star QB and blond dizz meet? Joe Simpson Jessica's father of COURSE!

The church going father that pimps out his daughters supposedly gave Romo his daughters number after Romo called Joe asking if it would be ok if he could take Jess out for a drink while she was in Dallas recording her country album...awww what a gentlemen.

Joe of course gave out the digits after supposedly clearing it with Jess making sure she had time between lip plumping sessions and now they are living Hollywood relationship bliss forrrrrrr 8 weeks tops.

  • My favorite wanna be rockstar is in the news again!!!

It seems Avril Lavigne think shes hit Axl Rose status and showed up late for a show. But then again Axl played huge venues not malls....

So it seems Avril angered a few concert goers in Burnbary, Canada recently. She was scheduled to play a free gig at an opening of a Best Buy..yes a Best Buy I said...at 1pm outdoors and left fans freezing their asses off until after 2pm.

And I'm sure all you Avril fans are going to tell me that she had some great excuse, which hey she might of, but you and I weren't the ones waiting out side in December in CANADA!

  • One of my favorite bands Queens of the Stone Age played a little set the other day at a rehab clinic the other day and to start off the set front man Josh kicked off the set with "Feel Good Hit of the Summer"..

O wow all Queens fans can already see the amusement in this for those of you not so familiar with this track here listen.

    (track)

I'm sorry but that is funny!!!!!

Anyways needless to say Queens didn't even finish the song before someone pulled the plug and Josh was forcefully removed out of the unnamed Los Angeles clinic.

After being around Josh for a few different interviews my guess is this was very intentional and his way of getting a good laugh...hey I though it was funny.

If you want to check more out from QOTSA check out our Uncut series with Toby Ryan and and alive rare acoustic set including an Elliot Smith
    cover.
