    amy

Amy Winehouse has announced that she is cancelling the remaining dates of her UK tour because she is missing her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

In statement to fans Winehouse apologised and her family requested that her privacy be requested at this time and that there will be no further comment.

The statement reads: Amy Winehouse has cancelled all remaining live and promotional appearances for the remainder of the year on the instruction of her doctor.

"The rigours involved in touring and the intense emotional strain that Amy has been under in recent weeks have taken their toll.

"In the interests of her health and well-being, Amy has been ordered to take complete rest and deal with her health issues."

Winehouse herself added: "I can't give it my all onstage without my Blake. I'm so sorry but I don't want to do the shows half-heartedly; I love singing.

"My husband is everything to me and without him it's just not the same."

Ticket holders for the cancelled shows are being advised to contact the point for purchase for refunds.

More Van Halen tour dates have surfaced for 2008 stretching from January through the end of March.

The band is currently on tour across North America, selling out in most markets. This is the first tour with frontman David Lee Roth since the band was supporting their 1984 album. With the spacing of the dates it looks like there is a possibility of more on tap but nothing official has been announced yet.

Hawthorne Heights guitarist Casey Calvert died Friday night in his sleep according to a statment from the band. A cause of death was not known at press time. The band released the following statement on their website:

Today is probably the worst day ever. Its with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before sound-check. We've spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible.

At this time we're not sure what exactly happened. Just last night he was joking around with everyone before he went to bed. We can say with absolute certainty that he was not doing anything illegal. Please, out of respect to Casey and his family, don't contribute or succumb to any gossip you may hear. We don't want his memory to be tainted in the least. Casey was our best friend. He was quirky and awesome and there will truly be no others like him! His loss is unexplainable. As soon as we know more we will let you know.

Sincerely, Hawthorne Heights Eron, JT, Micah and Matt

Former Iced Earth guitarist Ernie Carletti was convicted Monday of kidnapping and rape, stemming from his abduction of a University of Delaware student back in 2003. According to AP, a Superior Court jury in Wilmington, Delaware, found the 32-year-old musician guilty on two counts of first-degree rape and one count of first-degree kidnapping; he was acquitted on a related weapons charge.

Carletti admitted to abducting the student, shackling her arms and legs, and then hog-tying her at his Maryland home until she began crying. During the trial, he testified that he did not have a gun and did not rape the woman. "Maybe I wasn't thinking clearly," he said. "It was just part of the effect. I didn't say she wanted it, but she did not deny it."

The victim testified last week that she was waiting for a ride in nearby Newark, Delaware, when a stranger forced her into his car at gunpoint. She was handcuffed, shackled and blindfolded, then was driven to the man's home. After she was raped, she was driven back to Newark and left tied and blindfolded on West Main Street. Carletti's fingerprints were discovered on duct tape used to bind the woman

He faces up to two life prison terms. His sentencing date has not been announced.
