    silverchair

SILVERCHAIR SWEEP ARIA'S (Australian Grammy's) TO BECOME ALL TIME AWARD LEADERS IN ARIA HISTORY WITH 19 TOTAL AWARDS! ANNOUNCE NOVEMBER/DECEMBER US TOUR.

Silverchair swept the 2007 ARIA Awards in Sydney last night. They won five ARIA's - more than any other artist this year. Most significantly the band took out the prestigious Album Of The Year award for their acclaimed Young Modern. While they've had five chart topping albums over their career this was actually the first time that any Silverchair release has received that honor.

    They received the following awards:
    Album Of The Year
    Best Group
    Single Of The Year
    Best Rock Album
    Highest Selling Single

This extraordinary achievement makes Silverchair the most successful artist in the entire history of the ARIA Awards. Last night's haul took the band's career tally to 19 eclipsing John Farnham's previous record of 18 career gongs. Silverchair opened the Awards telecast with a memorable performance of "Straight Lines" and set the tone for a very special night that cemented Silverchair in their rightful place as one of the most acclaimed and successful bands in Australian music history

The ARIA's capped the busiest few months of the band's entire career. They have toured non-stop over the last 16 weeks racking up nearly 60 shows around the world including international festival appearances and their hugely successful "Across The Great Divide" tour with co-headliners, Powderfinger. Those shows came to an end on Friday night in Silverchair's home town of Newcastle.

Plain White T's fans new and old get ready for a release you must add to your collection. On November 6, 2007 Fearless Records will be re-releasing STOP, the Plain White T's original full-length album. The STOP reissue is fully remastered and includes three never-heard tracks from the band's previous studio sessions and new artwork.

Singer Tom Higgenson explains that, "STOP is more of a diary to me than a cd. This collection of songs is 100% auto-biographical to my life in 2001-2002. I was going through my first serious relationship, and STOP chronicles all the ups and downs that came along with that. We recorded it in our friend Wes' basement in Lombard, IL- the suburb of Chicago that Dave and I grew up in. The recording is very raw, but I like to think that gives it some character! And after all, in the end it's not about how good the recording is, it's all about the songs. I truly believe that some of the best songs I have ever written are on this album. So quit reading and enjoy our very first release on Fearless Records, and one of my personal favorites- STOP."

Check out the album that led the Chicago-based band from Tom's Higgenson's bedroom into the hearts and homes of fans nationwide. The Plain White T's have won a Teen Choice Award for "Choice Summer Song," won the "Breaking Woodie" (Best Emerging Artist) category at the 2006 mtvU Woodie Awards and were nominated for an MTV Video Music Award (for "Monster Single of the Year"). They have performed live on The Today Show, Jay Leno, Carson Daily, and Jimmy Kimmel in front of millions of viewers. The rise to a Platinum single and Gold Album didn't come over night but through hardwork and constant touring.

    Hot Chip
Hot Chip return with a new album Made In The Dark on February 5, 2008 on Astralwerks DFA Records . Made In The Dark is the amazing & ambidextrous follow up to the massively acclaimed, Mercury Music Prize nominated album The Warning, and was recorded and self-produced during the last six months from their home London studio base. Informed by two solid years of touring (many of the songs you may already know from their live shows) and charts their ever growing sonic ascendance into one of the world's most original and like/loveable bands.

Made In The Dark is the definitive Hot Chip record and could have been made by no other band. It would probably be easiest to say that Made In The Dark is faster and rockier than The Warning, but that is only beginning to scratch the surface. Within its 13 tracks there is both rhythmical chaos ("Shake A Fist", "Bendable Poseable"), soulful introspection ("We're Looking For A Lot Of Love", the title track "Made In The Dark", and "In The Privacy Of Our Love") and even contemporary widescreen pop ("Ready For The Floor", "One Pure Thought").The songs are propulsive, repetitive, rhythmical, methodical, wonky, intimate, beautiful and uniquely Hot Chip.

The album contains the mentalist Todd Rundgren sampling anthem "Shake A Fist" which has already caused a massive stir since it crept out on limited edition etched 12".

    why

Orlando, Fla., October 9, 2007 - Hard Rock International differentiates itself with Rock, but philanthropy is the company's soul. Hard Rock has remained true to its "Love All, Serve All" creed since the company's founding in 1971 - a motto that can be heard or seen at every Hard Rock location around the world. Continuing its pledge to serving others, Hard Rock is proud to announce the launch of SERVE2 - a benefit compilation CD, featuring previously unreleased tracks from some of music's most influential artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, Joss Stone, KT Tunstall and more - to benefit WHY (World Hunger Year), a nonprofit organization that strives to fight against hunger and poverty in America and around the world. All net proceeds from SERVE2 will be donated directly towards Artists Against Hunger & Poverty (AAHP), a special artist-directed program of WHY - for which, Hard Rock has proudly raised more than $1 million to date.

Joining Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and others in the fight against hunger and poverty, the SERVE2 CD features never-before-released tracks by a unique blend of major multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning and acclaimed recording artists like The Hold Steady, Mat Kearney, Brandi Carlile and more, as well as several bonus digital tracks. The songs are new, classic, electric or acoustic, and reflect the generosity of the artists that donated them to the project on behalf of serving those in need.

"We are honored to be partnering once again with Hard Rock and such great musicians for this effort," said Bill Ayres, founder of WHY. "The generosity and time committed to SERVE2 has been tremendous, and we are overwhelmed by the support for the cause."

    Blue October

Blue October are getting ready to begin work on their fifth studio album. Frontman Justin Furstenfeld says that the band will hit the studio early next year to "put down some songs we've been writing on the road and write some new ones and see what happens."

Furstenfeld told Billboard.com that the band has worked up "six or seven new songs from sound check," and that the group also has "a kind of song piggy bank" to draw from. "There's probably 50 or 60 in there from back in the day," he said.

That is a lot of songs!!!
