I work nights and only get every other weekend off... and I actually have Oct 2-4 off!!! Besides, if I don't win, I'll make my patented sad puppy face, and no one wants to see that!

I've been hearing Phoenix's "1901" play in the back drop of tons of t.v. this week...from Courtney Cox's reflection in the mirror on "Cougar Town" as she pinches her skin in various places to a car commercial. I'd love to actually SEE this awesome band live on stage! Plus its my 22nd birthday on the 5th and as a starving college student at UT I couldn't afford tickets and as a starving post graduate...I still can't afford tickets.
Oh lifeee...how thee are made much easier with the sound of music!

i know this comment may not be as "witty" as the rest... but its true and i think its a legitimate reason to want to enter this contest. In fact, i believe it's a way better reason than some of the posts i have seen. i buy ACL tickets every year cause it is hands-down my favorite austin event, however about two months ago i was involved in a terrible wreck and had to use crutches and a neck brace up until very recently and for this reason i wasn't able to work at my job as a waitress and don't have the money for the tickets. i thought a music festival would be a great way to celebrate my freedom from the neck brace, and on top of that my nineteenth birthday is this weekend. hope you pick me!

I've been wanting to do something special for my girlfriend for a long time. She's in grad school and lives the typical "poor student" lifestyle always wanting but never getting. She deserves something special and wants to go to this festival! I'd like to make that magic happen.

Unlike any other concert, ACL has a way of not selling hard tickets in the old brick and mordor fashion. As a result, people are rewarded with the opportunity for tickets by the luck of being near their e-mail and a computer. As a result, the locals very often get left in the dark with no tickets, asked to volunteer and left with the cleanup. We love the guests, but we'd like to party too. So imagine my excitement when I had the chance to buy tickets today. At 10 am, my HEB location( an Austin grocery store) would actually be selling tickets for $135! I got up at 4 am and after running errands to make sure I had cash and my student ID in hand, I got there at 5 am for a 10 am sale and stood in the first 1/4 of the line. C3 never handed out vouchers or numbers or wristbands to serve as placeholders in line and curb line jumpers, and with no semblance of order, I still went home without a way of getting in. Fraternities let all of their brothers in with them in line and forced them to buy tickets for their superior brothers. Girls who complained about line jumpers, jumped and got the 3rd to the last tickets in So I braved the crowds and left with no tickets. For the thousands of people who got tickets online and in every other way, I did something they never dreamed of. I stood forever in a long line with no order.

I’m not going to beg, patronize, or engage in gimmicks to get these tickets. Let me just show you my dedication to Blastro Networks via several examples:
1) I can tell you that during his Lollapalooza interview with Roxwel, Boys Noize rocked a T-shirt from Ice-T’s 1988 album “Power” – the very same title Boys Noize has chosen for his upcoming album. He also had a uni-brow under those glasses – ol’ creepy ass German.
2) Esser isn’t opposed to picking up stamp collecting just so he can have something else to do besides making music 24/7.
3) Dan Deacon doesn’t want to do acid with complete strangers that met him on the Internet; that’s not really his ideal setting for a psychedelic experience.
4) Kristi Lee has a Dirrty Mouth.
5) Electricity will be untamed by Audi on 09.15.09.
6) “New Divide” by Linkin Park is currently the most watched video on Roxwel, up four spots from No. 5 last week.
7) Finally, I even know that Albert Hammond, Jr.’s “GfC” is on Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas’ playlist.
It’s all about the details, my friend. I care about the music. I care about the artists. I care about the media that give me access. Rest assured your ACL tickets would be in good hands. No doubt.

So, I just had an awful dream. You know, the kind of dream where you are presenting in front of a huge crowd and look down to find you are wearing only your underwear. But instead of presenting in front of a huge crowd, I had made the trip to the ACL Fest and was standing in front of Zilker about to walk in the entrance only to realize I couldn't find my tickets. Then I realized I did not have tickets. Please don't make this nightmare a reality. Who cares if I am only in my underwear, as long as I have tickets in hand in order to enter the golden gates of ACL!!!

austin needs me. austin city limits needs me. give me the opportunity, and the rest is history. i will write the story in the stars. i will let the magic flow out from my chakras and help each performer by inserting the majestic life force into each rumpus, giving the crowd open minds and blessed ears of wonder. all i need is the tiniest hole of opportunity and i will seize acl by the balls and remind austin that they've got a pair.
But really, help me get away from my mother-in-law, talk about shoving things in my rear, this woman is a gorilla on my back, and she ain't no kitty monkey if you know what i'm sayin'. it has been well over a year since I laid foot on austin soil. i need an escape from the bible belt, perhaps i will bring rain with me, which could be a bad thing...or a good thing. just to be fair, you take a risk on rain if i win.

The name says it all. I love the PJ! I am a huge fan of live music in general, but to see the kings of live shows in Austin would completely top this year off. The last year has been a little tough, my three very best friends all got married, ($450 in tuxes.. i own no collard shirts) my ex fiancé had child and i still work in a great industry that only rewards me in quality of life yet no funds, therefore I am applying for the awesome task of truly valuing the gift you are willing to give. As a die hard music fan who unfortunately can not monetarily afford the tickets or hotel fare, I assure you that if there is one guy who will be bellowing "don’t call me daughter" at the top of his lungs.. that is this gal. One of my fav artist showcasing their talent in the live music capitol of the world will be Bon Iver.. i cherish that guy.. oooo wee not to mention good ole Ben friggin Harper.. sheesh .. I have a date who I could possibly convert to PJism if i could just get her to this glorious occasion. plus she is trying to become a dentist (which help me cause i have the bad teeth) and also as a student has no where near the funds to entertain the idea attending the last really made for me show of this third decade of my life. Lastly I would like to thank whichever genius decided to put this sweet steak (a.k.a. sweepstake) in front of my face.. I gobbled it up..
Thanks a 1,000,000 tacos

This years line up is pretty unbelievable; I can't even articulate how amazing it would be to see KOL & PJ in the same show. Went to see PJ back in '06 when KOL opened on a decent amount of tour dates, but My Morning Jacket opened at the venue I was at. These bands though, (KOL & PJ), there just it for me... absolutley, postively have I no stronger, more intense passion and love for any other bands! I could write a laundry list pages & pages about the songs, the lyrics, the individual band members qualities... tons, but no one prob wants to read that. Instead, to whom it may concern: please, please, please choose me to win the contest... I have no other way to obtain tickets as it's completley out of my realm of affordability at this time. I have never had the opportunity to experience a festival of this size and this line up would be the absolute ultimate f'ing concert experience to me! God, it would mean so much!!

My vote for Austin City Limits tickets goes to Rebekah. If her 30th birthday is not reason enough then consider that this year marks her 18th year as committed Pearl Jam fan. Committed being an understatement (she had her high school senior picture taken with a huge Vs. poster as the background. Pick her and I will send the evidence!) Pearl Jam is the icing on the cake of the laundry list of bands she is eager to see at this year’s event. She would be a grateful winner.
Sincerely,
Becky’s Mom

Ok, so heres the scoop. I moved down to Texas (Houston) about 4 years ago, im 17 now about to turn 18 and I used to live in Chicago but i was always to young according to my parents to go to lollapalooza and ever since i have lived down here people have constantly made fun of me because I lived in Chicago for 14 years and didn't go to lollapalooza once and that I have lived in Texas for 4 years and haven't seen Austin City Limits, and I figured now would be a great time to go, considering, Kings of Leon are my all time favorite band. Dave Matthews is in my top 10 and, well Pearl Jam is... Pearl Jam I don't think I really need to explain myself on why I would want to see Pearl Jam. And the Beastie Boys are one of the shows that I have always wanted to see and now that they are getting old I don't know how much longer they will being tours. It would be greatly appreciated if you sent me to Austin City Limits.

I have watched Austin City Limits it seems like forever. My niece Rachael who used to live in Austin but lives in Florida begged me to go with her last year. Unfortunately Hurricane Ike came through my area & I ended up working 12 - 18 hours a day 6 days a week for well over 3 months. So I missed out last year. Hopefully, no hurricanes this year!!!

We really want to go the ACL because we are huge Six Million Dollar Man fans...he is strong, hunky and rich....I mean Six million dollars doesn't go as far as it used too, but it IS still SIX Million Dollars, so any music festival named after our greatest National Superhero Steve Austin is good enough for us.

How can I make you understand
How much I want those tickets
This time my fate is in your hands
Don’t leave me in the thickets
I offer this sonic as a basic ploy
And I promise you it’s not a scam
My “body moves” to Beastie Boys
Plus I’ve always wanted to see Pearl Jam
Good music makes my mind feel clear
And John Legend makes me feel so smooth
When Dave Matthews Band hits my ears
I just sit back and rock the groove
It’s time to wrap up but hopefully now you see
How much winning Austin City Limits tickets means to me

So I have come to the realization that my turning 30 at Austin City Limits may not be compelling enough to score passes so I thought I should try a new angle… I get giddy like a school girl with a new crush every time I talk about ACL and have created a game to get everyone I come in contact with as amped as I am: I have a hypothetical party bus headed to the ACL Fest and in order to get on my bus a person must display an extraordinary talent. So far my bus has a bilingual ambidextrous writer, a fire juggler, a dyslexic sign language expert and a 5’4” Midwestern princess with “rapping” skills comparable to Biggie. I need more talent for the bus and would love enlightenment from other Roxwel fans…
