I opened a fortune cookie today and it said, ?Your present plans are going to succeed.? Although it might be foolish to look to a cookie for words of wisdom, I took it into consideration and thought that sometimes you have to take a leap of faith and attempt something you never thought was possible. I?ve lived in the Austin area going on 7 years now and being the typical roman noodle college student/recent grad, I didn?t think it was possible that I would be able to go to ACL this year?that is until I decided to enter this contest. I am going to tell you why I deserve these tickets and it?s not because my fortune cookie told me so!
No, Im not dying?
No, I didn?t save a family from a burning fire?
No, I didnt just get married/divorced/engaged etc?
Nor did I break my arm saving a busload of school children from a sinking battleship?
Simply put, I am a SpUnKy Texas native with a love for music and Austin. Most importantly, I know how to keep it rockin?!!!

I just cycled over 4500 miles from Austin,Texas to Anchorage,Alaska in order to find a cure for cancer. I've spent the last year as part of an organization that raised over $350,000 for cancer research at MD Anderson, and raised over 1 million in the last five years! My family is just now adjusting after Hurricane Ike decided to rampage our city, and I'm about to graduate after fours years of science classes! My legs are super tired, but I'm positive a three-day adventure at ACL could fix that.

I am a big music fan and have never missed an ACL Festival year or day. I would love to go VIP. I would represent Roxwel to the best of my ability. I would tell everyone that I met that I won the tickets from your fine company and also pass out cards for you if needed. I am a hard worker and will not let you down.
If I won, I would also donate my tickets that I currently have to a couple that have lost everything from Hurrican Ike and is currently housed at the Austin Convention Center or the DelCo Center.
Hope to hear back from you soon.
Smiles.

I'm a music addict, it is every part of my being and it is what helps me get through every day. I've always wanted to go to ACL but have some how missed it every year. I was determined to go this year, but those plans got canceled when my best friend called me saying she was getting married this summer. Thus all my money has gone to fly to California to watch her get married to her soul mate. I wouldn't trade any minute of it I loved my trip and the wedding was beyond beautiful. I'm so bummed that I won't be able to attend this year, it's always been a dream of mine and the line-up this year is unbelievable, full of the most amazing artists from every genre. I'd give anything to be able to attend such a phenomenal event.

I've only been to one concert in my life and frankly have never been too impressed by this whole "live music" fad. That said, after waiting for open air concerts to go the way of Furbies, I realized that this contest gives me a chance to deprive some pot-addle, crocs-wearing trust-afarian of the chance to relive the 90s and pretend that Blues Travelers are cool.
Also, I recently broke my leg saving a busload of schoolchildren from a sinking battleship.

Besides the fact that I am willing to endure the Texas Heat for some of my favorite artists, here are a few more reasons....
a] I will not bring a chair to try to blockade other fans from moving closer to the stage. I'm not that *******.
b] I have no rugrats, so I won't put those non-existent angels in the danger of the burning heat. So you won't here their non-existent cry.
b] I will not be one of those morons that downs whiskey and tons of beer, only to waste the experience being knocked out drunk on a blanket somewhere in the middle of zilker park.
c] I have gone EVERY year since [what year was it before the killers became egotistical douches?]...well, that year, when they were playing at 1pm Friday and about 15 people were in front of the stage...Oh, that was the year of the pixies as well <3
d] Even though I couldn't understand a WORD bob dylan was singing, I stayed. Because its motherf****ing Bob Dylan!
and e] E for EFFORT!!
plus i'm broke. :]

Winning tickets would be such an awesome thing for us to get to spend a little quality time before the new baby gets here. Love our kids but music holds a very special place in our hearts as well and with 3-day passes our spirits sure would be lifted.

As an actor and past Texas Longhorn, I feel I would be able to use your tickets to not only have a great time but possibly return a favor to Roxwel. No Matter how much I get knocked for liking Country Music, I continue to support and adore the talents found within the Country music sector!! Only the closeminded idiots of the world, who don't even give it a fair go, wouldn't like it!!Country music has so much to offer now-a-days and I've never really understood the reason why so many bag-it! It has such a diversity, that I'm sure people would respond to, if only they would listen with out the 'stigma' clouding their judgement!!I live in a coastal town in Australia where country music just isn't accepted......so of course where ever I go I 'crank-it'(my country music) as loud as I can (with my Awesome car stereo) and try to indulge people's subconscieous with the 'pure, inspirational, thought-provoking, raw, uninhibited genious' known as Country music!!!!Now doing my little bit for the country music industry I thought it would be a lovely gesture to widen my knowledge and passion with a visit to the ACL Fest, I thank you for the oppotunity to fullfill my destiny!!(Chuckle)Yours Faithfully Tarlz (tarlzm@gmail.com)

As is typical of anyone who lives in flyover country, I live my life vicariously through the music that pumps through my iPod. Throughout my life I have turned to ACL to see my favorites and those I've never heard before, perform, what seemed to be, a show just for me. To have the opportunity to visit ACL and see those same artists perform for my wife and I and a whole festival full of people who, no doubt, feel the same way would be on opportunity of a lifetime.

I love Manu Chao; I love Manu Negra; I have never heard any project that involves Manu Chao that isn't incredible. I was not able to go to San Fracisco to see him so this is the perfect excuse to go to Austin - the music mecca of the USA. Where better to embrace someone of such muscically global origins? Manu Chao's entire band always consists of the best the world has to offer. I love the guitar, the bass, the percussion, the horns that he chooses to back his soulful vocals and rhythms. I love how he absorbs and incorporates the music of the people where ever he travels. I really do love this guy. He is what Mozart aspired to be.

I would love to win these tickets. Not no be a Debbie Downer or anything but last year I bought my fiancee tickets to ACL for his birthday and the day before my Grandmother died and we were unable to go. I couldn't even sell the tickets. He was so selfless and automatically with no thought at all said lets go and be with your family. He gave up his tickets and a birthday. This year money is a little tight. I wasn't able to purchase the three day passes when they were avaliable and now the best I can hope for is a single day. I would LOVE to give this to him for his birthday this year. It would make up for last year and he would be SO HAPPY!!!

My younger sister, Marybeth, was married on May 27th, 2008. At her wedding I become reacquainted with one of her closest friends, Becky. Becky lives in Austin. Becky and I had known each other for over thirty years, but it wasn?t until then that we realized how much we had in common, especially our love of music, and how much we enjoy each other?s company. She lives in Austin. I live in Jacksonville, FL. I have visited Austin and have other friends there; I love the town and its musical diversity. I hope to attend the ACL, regardless of winning the tickets or not, but I would like to win them for my sister, who got married in May. Sadly, her husband, Bill Dudash, died suddenly one month after their wedding. She and Becky attended the ACL a couple years ago, and I know that it would lift her spirits for my sister to be able to spend time with her best friend reliving some fun that they once had. She certainly deserves a respite.

I know someone who'd really like to go to ACL this year... I deserve to win because I would give them the tickets.

There's simply no live music and entertainment festival/conference like SXSW and no televised concert series as strong as Austin City Limits. This an outstanding prize......why not me?

My husband, who is active duty military, and I always watch ACL on PBS and always would talk about how cool it would be to go to just one of the concerts. This would be a lifetime's worth of shows and it would be awesome for him to be treated like royalty after all his hard work.

I should win because I very much enjoy the live music and would take full advantage of these passes. I have been to all of the ACL fests so far, every day every year. Plus, I am a winner. Let's do this.

um, i think i should win b/c i did lollapalooza vip style, and now i just can't go back. i love air-conditioned bathrooms, massages, catered food, formula 50 (and tito's, of course) and not being suffocated during "rage"-in shows. please help me in my crusade to never set foot in a porta-pottie again!

this is my first year and it falls over my best friend's birthday. I know--that was lame and predictable. Mostly, we are super cheap and would never pay to be v.i.p.s, but deep down we have what it takes to eat, drink and be merry at the festival and make great use of this amazing offer. pick us!

I am a HUGE fan of all of these wonderful artists and would love to be able to see them! My brother's band is in the Dell Sound and Jury contest and it would be THE MOST AMAZING thing to be able to be there to watch them perform the show of their lives if they get chosen to play at ACL!!!!!! Pick me!!!!

We would love the opportunity to see these terrific performers, and see my brother too! Please choose us! My husband

Pick me! As an Austin native I've been every year, but will not be going this year unless I get these passes! It would be a travesty to break the trend now...

I've lived in Austin for almost 3 years and haven't gotten to go to ACL yet. I am a huge fan of the bands playing this year and cannot afford to go. Pick me me me!!!
