There are three artists named Woe. The first is a Black Metal band from New Jersey, USA, formed in 2007. The second is a noise / punk / jazz band who formed in 2000 in Southend-on-Sea, UK and split in 2004.
Woe (US): Woe was created in early 2007 to create potent black metal. Originally intended as nothing more than a casual experiment, it quickly changed from bedroom black metal project to the primary musical force in its creators life. No drum machines, no corpse paint, no Renaissance Faire speak, no fake names, no lies. Honest, dark black metal, faithful to tradition without spewing clichés. Woe plays agressive, hypnotic black metal with themes of ritual satanism, elitism, and loss. The first full-length, "A Spell for the Death of Man" was released in 2008.

Woe (UK): Woe strove to make the familiar strange by infusing their rock with a fierce and heavy streak of experimentalism and number of left field stylistic elements. The British quartet came at their compositions with the spirit of punk and the desire - if not necessarily the requisite experience - to play jazz. A big, spooky rhythm section drives Woe's music, building the hypnotism factor, which is only increased thanks to layered trumpet, sax, and guitar, and lots of dub delay. Sometimes the songs are barely contained chaos, sometimes they are slinky and elegant.
