From Discogs:

Keane are an English rock band from Battle, East Sussex. They are recognized worldwide because, unlike most rock artists, they have largely resisted the use of guitars in their music, and because of Tom Chaplin's soft voice and falsetto. Keane's earlier work has a particular piano-based, melodic style that many have compared with Coldplay, members of whom they met when they were at school. Their third LP, Perfect Symmetry, embraces a wider range of electronic textures, including the use of guitars, which were first introduced staply in the band's work on the promotional tour that followed the Under the Iron Sea album.

From Lastfm:

Keane is an English piano rock band, first established in Battle, East Sussex in 1995, taking their current name in 1997. The group is comprised of composer, bassist, and pianist Tim Rice-Oxley, lead vocalist Tom Chaplin and drummer Richard Hughes. Their original line-up included founder and guitarist Dominic Scott, who left in 2001. For their 2008 album 'Perfect Symmetry' and the following tour, Jesse Quin is joining the band on stage to play bass, as a substitute for the previously-used laptop. He also played a large role in recording the album itself.
