Ian Ball released his first solo album 'Who Goes There' in October 2007, through his own label 'Dispensary Records'.
Special appearances on the album come from Stephanie and Sam Farrar, Sam plays guitar in the band 'Phantom Planet'. Stephanie and Sam's Father, John Farrar, was in the well known 50's/60's band 'The Shadows'. Other guests include Phil Krohnengold, who wrote the string arrangements on the Gomez album 'How We Operate' and Will Golden (who has collaborated with Gary Jules).
To promote the album Ian Ball supported the John Butler Trio on their American Tour September through to October 2007.
From Wikipedia:Ian Ball is an English singer songwriter, most notable for being part of the indie rock band Gomez, sharing lead vocals and guitars. He has also performed and released a solo recording. He is also a member of the 14 piece supergroup Operation Aloha along with fellow Gomez member Olly Peacock. Ball composed the score for the award winning 2007 indie film La Cucina, and performed as a session musician on Cheap Trick's 2009 album/DVD Sgt. Pepper Live.
