After releasing the live EP
Another 700 Miles in 2003 and wrapping up up their 2004 tour, 3 Doors Down returned to the studio in 2005 to work on their third album, which saw a 2005 release in the form of
Seventeen Days. Released at the same time as their live DVD
Away From The Sun,
Seventeen Days debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, selling 235,000 copies in its first week on store shelves - another first for the band. Though it only received middling reviews by critics,
Seventeen Days had a number of standout songs like
"Landing in London" (a debut with rock legend
Bob Seger) and
"Let Me Go". The band toured extensively in support of
Seventeen Days, sharing the stage nationwide with southern rock godfathers
Lynyrd Skynyrd.
They added former
Puddle of Mudd drummer
Greg Upchurch to their roster in late 2005, releasing their fourth and most current album
3 Doors Down three years later in 2008. The band’s second album to skyrocket to the #1 spot on the Billboard 200,
3 Doors Down has so far spawned four singles, among them
"Citizen/Soldier" and
"It’s Not My Time". Currently, 3 Doors Down is on tour with
Hinder and
Econoline Crush, and will be throughout most of 2008.
